Roger Capron "Garrigue" Coffee Table
Own a piece of French design history with this authentic coffee table by the renowned master ceramicist Roger Capron. Created in his famous studio in Vallauris, France, during the 1960s, this table is part of his iconic "Garrigue" series. The tabletop is composed of handcrafted tiles inlaid with actual leaves and wildflowers from the South of France, which were pressed into the clay and burned away during firing to leave behind these delicate, fossil-like impressions.
The warm, earthy tones of the stoneware are beautifully framed by a dark-stained wood base with rounded corners and substantial cylindrical legs. This "Brutalist" silhouette perfectly complements the organic, botanical details of the tiles.
Because Capron used real plants for each tile, no two tables in this series are ever exactly alike, making this a unique work of functional art.
