Set of 2 Mathias Steen Rasmussen Lounge Chairs for Gubi
An exquisite pair of MR01 Initial Lounge Chairs, designed by Danish designer and woodworker Mathias Steen Rasmussen for GUBI. Celebrated for its low-slung, architectural silhouette and artisanal construction, the MR01 combines traditional joinery with a light, tactile aesthetic. Selling as a matched pair, perfect for creating an elegant conversation area or a serene lounge arrangement.
Built around an open triangular solid oak frame, executed using traditional cabinetmaking techniques with exposed finger and mortise-and-tenon joinery, designed completely without screws. Hand-woven cord seat and backrest provide ergonomic support with a lightweight, semi-transparent visual footprint. Reclined seat angle designed to foster relaxation and a sense of calm.
Very good pre-owned condition. The solid oak frames exhibit natural grain and rich tone, with strong, intact joinery. The woven cord remains taut, uniform, and clean with minimal signs of use. Pictures represent the condition of the chairs.
